Local Idol hopeful sings for Rhode Show

(FOX Providence) - Seventeen year old Jordan Ashton is beyond excited about auditioning for American Idol. Before registering to audition for American Idol Friday, Jordan sang The Rhode Show a song.
"I have been waiting to be able to audition for AI for the past 8 years..I am finally old enough!"
Jordan is a high school Junior, and says he has been taking voice lessons, and plays multiple instruments to gear up for season 9 of the FOX hit show.
"Music is my life," said Jordan.
Jordan's recent claim to fame?
"I have been the number one tenor in Rhode Island's all state this year," added the 17-year-old from Narragansett.
