We're cooking Providence Granola Project Apple Crisp with Providence Granola Project .
Ingredients:
4 medium-large apples (granny smith, mutsu, Empire, macintosh, or variety)
5 T brown sugar
1 t. cinnamon
½ lemon
1 and ½ T. kirsch
1 T. flour
pinch nutmeg
pinch salt
2 c. PGP Ginger Zinger Muesli
½ c. flour
¼ t. nutmeg (if desired)
6 T. (¾ stick) butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
Steps:
1) Heat oven to 350; butter pan
2) Peel and core apples (should have 7-8 cups)
3) Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, lemon, kirsch, flour, nutmeg, salt. Adjust sugar if apples are a sweet variety. Stir, then allow to sit in bowl.
4) Put flour, sugar, salt, nutmeg in food processor; pulse 1-2 times to mix. Add butter in pre-cut pieces: pulse 5-6 times. (Okay to have lima-bean size chunks of butter).
Add muesli and pulse only to mix
5) Squeeze topping to help it clump, then spread on apples
6) Bake for 40 minutes or until bubbles
