(FOX Providence) - It's the season of giving. But, for one in five Americans it's also the season of receiving some awful gifts.
According to a new survey by Consumer Reports, 20 percent of adults say they got stuck with at least one lousy gift last year. But, what did they do with those presents?
Well, the majority said they made the best of it, or stored it out of view.
But, others weren't so happy.
Fifteen percent re-gifted it to an unsuspecting family member, friend or co-worker. Eleven percent returned the item to the retailer for a refund or merchandise credit. While another 11 percent elected to toss the gift in the trash.
Six percent tried to resell their gifts.
In-laws received the title of worst gift-giver on the survey.
