(FOX Providence) - WaterFire is holding a very special Christmas lighting on Friday. The lighting will benefit the Providence Rescue Mission.
Thirty-two braziers will be burning brightly beginning at sunset on December 16. The fires will approximately be lighted at 5 p.m. and will burn until 8:30 p.m.

The Providence Rescue Mission staff & volunteers will be on site in RISD’s Market Square from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, grilling up and dishing out free Capital Grille burgers donated by the Capital Grille as well as Cajun Chicken Sandwiches donated by the Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant.
Cookies, Carolers, Cocoa and Santa
In the spirit of giving, WaterFire will be producing a host of events in RISD’s Market Square on December 16th to benefit and shine a spotlight on the incredible work of the Providence Rescue Mission, including a visit from and pictures with Santa (5pm -8:30), Christmas caroling, free cookies, hot beverages, a WaterFire merchandise tent, and many other special surprises and festivities that will be in Market Square from 11:30 AM on throughout the day.

What Can You Donate?
WaterFire is encouraging the public to bring to Market Square donations of new unwrapped toys and gifts, food, clothing and other items for the Providence Rescue Mission. Dunkin Donuts will be giving out free mint hot chocolate and hot apple cider to anyone who brings down a donation for the Providence Rescue Mission. Monetary donations will be accepted on site as well.
Some of WaterFire’s fantastic vendors will also be joining us along the river as well as the WaterFire merchandise tent for some great Christmas gift ideas.
