(FOX Providence) - As you get ready to dive into the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's also time to try and help those who are less fortunate.
They call it the Home for the Holidays Giving Program . Crossroads Rhode Island has created a virtual catalog where people and businesses can gift Crossroads on behalf of a loved one or employee. And your money can really go far.
Sixty-two dollars can pay for showers and an nights' rest for a family of four.
Or for just a 55 dollar donation, you can help provide transportation for an entire month to help a homeless Rhode Islander get to and from work or training.
Crossroads Rhode Island provides 24 hour assistance 7 days a week, offering services to Rhode Islanders ranging from young children and babies to older adults.
But they can't do it alone. And that's why the staff at Crossroads Rhode Island is hoping the virtual catalogs will encourage more people to embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season.
