After nearly six-years and 100 million active users, Twitter has attracted a slew of celebrity users and organizations.
This year was no exception as big names from all walks of life - TV, music, politics, religion and sports - saw the social network's potential to boost their careers or help to their social initiatives.
Twitter is highlighting its growth with a Year in Review Series in which one part shows off the celebrities that have joined Twitter in 2011.
Big names to join the social network this year include actor Charlie Sheen, Singer Christina Aguilera, soccer star M1ia Hamm and many others.
