'Modern Diner' a 'Best Of RI' nominee

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (FOX Providence) - It's said that you shouldn't start the day without a good breakfast, and that's advice they take seriously at the Modern Diner.
The building itself isn't very "modern" at all. It's the first diner to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Co-owner Nick Demou credits the diner's success to his staff and to the loyal families who keep this diner in business.
And after years of being honored with the title of "Best Diner" in the Blackstone Valley, every award makes the owners very proud.
And who made this year's "Best of Rhode Island" list? The winners will be announced Wednesday night!
The Rhode Show will bring you inside the party with The Rhode Show Prime-time Special: Rhode Island Monthly's Best of Rhode Island at 7:30 on FOX Providence.
The Modern Diner is open for breakfast and lunch Monday-Saturday 6am-3pm, and Sunday 7am-2pm.
