(FOX Providence) - Every year Day One asks teenagers to create a video advertisement addressing sexual violence prevention. This year's winning team from Warwick Vets Memorial High School, along with Sandra Malone from Day One, joined the Rhode Show to discuss their stand-out concept.
Sandra explains that the program not only helps educate teens about sexual violence, but encourages them to work in teams to develop an effective way to communicate prevention strategies.
The students explained that the project started as a health class assignment. One student, Meghann said "Others were based off skits and I wanted to think of something different." From there, the concept of faces evolved and turned into their winning video, highlighting "Anyone can be a victim and everyone can be a leader."
