Laughs, tricks in magician's new show

(FOX Providence) - Native Rhode Islander Matt Roberts, is bringing his latest show to Twin River's Catch A Rising star.

This rare, local performance is happening at 7:30 on September 14th at Twin River’s Catch.

During this one-of-a-kind show, audiences will not only experience astonishing original illusions, hilarious comedy, skillful sleight-of-hand and an exciting twist on Houdini’s impressive straitjacket escape, but will also become part of the show as spectators are brought on stage to have their minds read, take part in making objects disappear and to assist in a jaw-dropping levitation that has to be seen to be believed.

“This show is really different,” says Roberts. “Whether you like comedy, magic or live music, there is something for you; and all for less than a trip to the movies.”

People who have avoided going to a comedy club in the past for fear of being made fun of by the comedian or being overwhelmed by four-letter words don’t have to worry. “Laughs, Licks & Awesome Tricks is a clean show and I never humiliate my volunteers. They actually become the stars of the show and always have fun,” says Roberts.
