PROVIDENCE, R.I. (FOX Providence) - In these cold winter months there aren't too many activities to get and do with the family. But, there is one, ice skating!

Friday morning Ben Hague was live at the Bank of America Skating Center in Providence with some very special guests.

Ice skating instructor Kimberly Hopkins worked with Ben, as well as three children on the basics of skating.

Figure skaters Brianna Bazel and Angela Nelson performed separate routines live on The Rhode Show

And PC Women's Ice Hockey Coach Bob Deraney and some team players joined the show with more information on The fourth annual Skating Strides event.

The event takes place Saturday, January 23 as the Friars take on Boston College. At this game pink skates will be on sale, pink water bottles and other various merchandise to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. All proceeds from the skates and merchandise will benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation .
