(FOX Providence) - Anyone in television will tell you, the road to a gig in TV often runs straight up hill. But each of The Rhode Show's Search for a Star finalists say they are ready to do the job.

And while they're all very different, we've found each of these contestants has brought something unique to the challenges we've presented them.

Here they are, The Search for a Star top five finalists:

The Mom: Naomi Salvatore
"We're still hip moms even though we have kids."

The Comedian: Ben Hague
"I'm gonna look to make people laugh. They can tune in, or log onto my blog and see some funny stuff."

The Girl Next Door: Courtney Petrowski
"So they started calling me "Little Rhody" because I'm 5'3" and they thought I was from Rhode Island."

The Actor: Matt Rodrigues
"I've got an agent and I've done a few things, done some commercials, some independent films, and I just did my first film."

The Entertainment Buff: Maria Sparks
"Obsessed with entertainment news and reality shows and gossip."

They are all competing to be the next co-host of The Rhode Show, and would love to win a seat on the set for the next year!

We asked just what each of them would bring to the show.

"I have professional training in broadcasting. I'm also the baby of the group, I don't know if that's good or bad," said Courtney.

"And I think I'm kind of on the lighter side, I can bring that comedic side, but I can also be serious," said Ben.

"I do have a great personality and I think it's one that would definitely grow on people every day," added Mariah.

"But I think what I bring to the table is relatibility. I'm a wife, I'm a mother," said Naomi.

"And I want to be able to bring an extreme entertainment factor to the show. I think to be able to liven up peoples mornings," said Matt.

But despite their differences and the fact that they are competitors, the top five finalists are all friends!
