(FOX Providence) - Finding a job is tough enough already, and you don't need your wardrobe to be the reason people don't hire you.

Local mom blogger, Audrey McClelland joined The Rhode Show to share to help us out with the do's and dont's of job hunting attire.

* The following suggestions coincide with the attached video.*

Look One: Not to Wear: Black pants with a cable knit turtleneck and flats

Why it's a don't?
This is a fashion don't because you never were a casual outfit like this.

Why it's a do?
This is why this look works. Anyone can get away with wearing Monochromatic styles.

What to Wear: Keep black pants, add black top, add black heels - necklace (with a little color). Audrey says this look is sophisticated and elegant and easy for anyone to wear.

Look Two: Not to Wear: Little Black Dress

Why it's a don't?
It's not right for a job interview. It may come across as inappropriate attire for an interview.

What to Wear: Add blazer, add necklace, add heels. It's a professional, classic and chic look says Audrey.

Look Three: Not to Wear: Button down blouse, blazer and dark wash jeans with boots

Why it's a don't?
Audrey says this look is way too laid back. Even though the jeans are dark wash, you should never wear jeans.

What to Wear: Keep the blazer and blouse, add trouser pants and mid-heel. Keep yourself look professional and business-appropriate.

"You don't always need to wear a blazer. A cardigan is a great
alternative," added Audrey.

The Eyewitness News Job Fair is Wednesday, January 20 at 10 a.m.
