This week on Executive Suite: Angus Davis, founder and CEO of Swipely.

Davis, a Rhode Island native, is one of the most successful technology entrepreneurs in the state. As a teenager he left to become one of the earliest employees at Netscape, the pioneering Web browser firm. From there he went on to co-found TellMe Networks, a voice-recognition software company eventually acquired by Microsoft for a record amount.

In 2010 Davis started a new company, Providence-based Swipely, which is changing how small businesses process their credit-card transactions in a way that allows them to tap into robust data abut their customers and their businesses. He also discusses his take on why Rhode Island's economy is struggling and what the state can do to improve the situation.
