Published : Wednesday, 12 Dec 2012, 5:12 PM EST

This week on Executive Suite: John Wolfe, senior vice president and New England/Ohio general manager at Cox Communications, and Pam Hargraves, owner of Blooming Blossoms.

Wolfe discusses his company's decades of investment in Rhode Island's phone, cable TV and Internet connectivity and how the company deals with growing local competition. He talks about the trend of "cord-cutting" and suggestions that cable TV should be sold a la carte, and introduces Cox's new home security product.

Hargraves owns Blooming Blossoms, a flower shop on Hope Street in Providence, and is preparing to celebrate 25 years in business next year. She discusses how she's survived the ups and downs of the local and national economy, and what advice she has for other small businesses.
