Steve Tetzner

With over 16 years of experience and over $1 billion in overall mortgage volume, Stephen Tetzner is a recognized leader in the mortgage industry. He is a founding partner of Homestar Mortgage, which he began with his father, Carl over 15 years ago. He was recently ranked the number one mortgage originator in Rhode Island, and is the 29th most successful loan producer nationwide. Steve is currently president of the RI Mortgage Bankers Association, and has served on its Board of Directors for seven years.

As chair of the RI Mortgage Bankers Association’s Legislative Committee, Steve was personally involved in the drafting of language regarding loan officer licensing, and was instrumental in creating the landmark predatory lending legislation. He is a regular contributor to Real Estate Insights on 920 WHJJ and is an active member of the Narragansett Lions Club. Steve studied Finance at the University of Rhode Island and is active in several charitable organizations, including the Toys for Tots Program and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
