NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (FOX Providence) - A Rhode Island native is getting another shot at becoming the next "American Idol."
Melanie Donnelly of North Kingstown auditioned for judges in New Jersey, and was chosen to move onto the Hollywood round this week.
Donnelly previously got a chance to audition for the hit Fox reality show in 2008, after she won Southern New England Idol. She performed for "American Idol" producers in Florida, but did not make the cut.
